Service Technician
**Job Title: Service Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Multicraft Service Technician with a strong electrical foundation and solid mechanical aptitude to service, troubleshoot, and repair steel plate cutting machines and other manufacturing equipment across a 500-mile territory. You will be the on-site expert, delivering diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and customer support to ensure safe and efficient production. **Responsibilities** + Diagnose, repair, and maintain steel plate cutting machines (approximately 70% electrical, 30% mechanical). + Perform preventative maintenance and system calibrations to ensure optimal performance. + Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting and repairs. + Install upgrades and components; verify system functionality and safety compliance. + Document service activities, parts usage, and provide recommendations for future maintenance. + Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams; provide post-service follow-up. + Travel regularly within a 500-mile radius using a company-provided vehicle for installations, maintenance, and repairs. + Work with CNC-controlled machines and Fanuc industrial robots as part of service tasks. + Conduct electrical troubleshooting at an industrial level, including 480V systems and 3-phase motors. + Perform mechanical repairs, secondary to electrical skills. + Engage in PLC troubleshooting for diagnostics. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of experience as a field service technician or industrial maintenance tech (preferred). + Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (AC/DC, drives, motors, PLC basics, sensors). + Mechanical proficiency in gearboxes, pneumatics/hydraulics basics, alignment, and rigging safety. + Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics. + Familiarity with manufacturing environments and safety standards (LOTO, PPE, OSHA). + Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills. + Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Strong electrical knowledge at the industrial level. + Mechanical aptitude with a preference for electrical skills. + Familiarity with CNC machines and Fanuc processes. + Ability to troubleshoot control systems. + Preferred backgrounds include industrial maintenance and HVAC service technicians. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a competitive pay structure, comprehensive BCBS Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance at no cost, and a 401(k) with a company match up to 3%. The role requires travel within a 500-mile radius, covering states such as NC, SC, VA, East TN, GA, Northern FL, with occasional trips to KY, WV, and PA. Typically, travel involves day trips or 1–2 nights, with occasional week-long installations. There is no weekend work, except for rare exceptions. The team is flexible with short-notice weekday travel and accommodates family matters and doctor appointments. The environment is collaborative, and team members support each other. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Concord, NC. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.
