Position Summary

Provides Gordon Food Service (GFS) customers with timely, proper maintenance on equipment within the market area and effectively manages parts and equipment expenses. 

Location

The successful candidate should be based out of the Saskatoon region.

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.46 - $33.70

Essential Functions

Schedules and performs installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs per GFS standards.

Reads and interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams; uses electronics knowledge, test instruments, and hand tools for repairs.

Provides equipment and technical support to Product Specialists and Customer Development Specialists (CDS).

Logs all field activity using Metrx/Mobile and completes paperwork promptly.

Builds professional relationships with internal and external customers.

Sets and meets goals to reduce expenses, increase productivity and improve reporting.

Manages time effectively to achieve daily, weekly, and yearly objectives.

Provides 24/7 emergency service and timely follow-up on projects.

Communicates changes and opportunities to management, Product Specialists, and CDS.

Acts as a departmental resource for assigned responsibilities.

Conducts in-service training on equipment use and operation.

Performs cycle counts of parts and equipment inventory.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

High School / Equivalent required

Valid State Driver’s License required

Two years of equipment repair experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required

Mechanical Aptitude - displays strong mechanical aptitude; adheres to all electrical, plumbing, health and sanitation codes; adheres to safety protocols.  Knowledge of products, equipment, and tools needed to complete the tasks required of this job (install/maintain/fix).  Ability to correctly interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams

Customer  Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; ability to display professional quality work and service.

Problem Solving — Identifying moderate problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.  Refers to supervisor, manuals, policies and practices for guidance.

Communication - Ability to convey and receive information effectively through speaking, writing, and listening.   

Physical Abilities and attributes - ability to perform physical aspects of the job, including heavy lifting of machines.  Must have a professional appearance and proper hygiene.

Equipment / Tools / Technology

Knowledge of  Chemical and Beverage dispensing equipment (coffee, juice and dish machines) 

Must be able to use standard hand tools, electrical drills, and metal cutting saws

Special tools for equipment that require devices to program

Must be able to operate maintenance vehicle provided by GFS (cargo style vehicle) 

Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email and internet software applications.  

Knowledge of Metrix and Mobile software applications preferred.
