Service Mechanic Lead

Job Description:

Wastequip WRX’s service division has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Service Mechanic to support our Pacific, WA service operation. This role is critical to ensure the reliability and performance of our customers’ equipment along with supporting Wastequip.
 

Hourly rate range: $46.00 - $50.00 (Based on experience) + Quarterly bonuses.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on all makes of refuse equipment. (e.g., front loaders, rear loaders, roll-offs, automated side loaders).Utilize welding and fabricating skills to repair and maintain equipment.Maintain accurate service records and documentation.Communicate effectively with customers and the internal service team.Travel may be required for on-site repairs at customer locations.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics.Support and maintain equipment across Wastequip’s internal brands, ensuring consistency in service quality and technical standards.Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in heavy equipment repair, preferably in refuse or fleet services.The ideal candidate will bring leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Must have the ability to read and repair hydraulic systems along with electrical schematics and repair and diagnose connections of circuitry.Ability to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders.Above all, must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team members.Proficiency in welding and fabrication.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel as needed.The preferable candidate would have a CNG certificate and a CDL or must be able to obtain CNG Certificate and CDL after being hired.
