We're looking for a Service Administrator to join our dynamic Special Projects Team — a small team delivering big impact for children and young people across the UK.

We help the charity deliver on its mission to ensure children and young people are safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful.

Our team designs, plans and delivers strategic projects that respond to the charity's priorities. We work at pace, collaborate across departments, and bring people together with the right skills to deliver ambitious one‑off or large‑scale programmes.

Location

This role is primarily home‑based, offering flexibility and a positive work–life balance. You'll attend occasional team meetings across the UK, with all travel costs covered by the charity.

If you live near a Barnardo's colleague hub, you'll also have the option to work from there when space is available.

About the Role

You'll provide high‑quality administrative support to Project Managers, completing tasks efficiently and helping to ensure smooth delivery of programmes that improve outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day administrative support across a range of strategic projects Manage project communications, including shared inboxes and enquiries Coordinate meetings: scheduling, agendas, invites and minute‑taking Maintain organised documentation, shared files and project resources Track project activity using spreadsheets, logs and progress trackers Support evaluation work, including collecting and processing data using external systems Assist with organising workshops, events and stakeholder sessions Follow up on outstanding actions to help keep projects on track Liaise with internal teams, including Communications, to support programme delivery Provide general administrative support to enable high‑quality work across the team
