Job Description:

   

This position will support government accounts.  Therefore, due to federal export-control regulations, the selected candidate must hold U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident/Green Card status or otherwise have a category of refugee/asylee status enabling them to perform the role without requiring a license under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

This role has been designed as “Onsite” with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE Houston, TX office.

The Server Platform Integration Test Engineer is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of NPI (new product introduction) server platform validation, encompassing automated test design, development, and debugging, as well as platform test planning, execution, debug, and fix validation. This hands-on role requires direct engagement with all aspects of platform integration test, test automation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to identify and resolve design defects. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in both x86 and ARM-based server architectures, BIOS/UEFI architecture, advanced programming skills, and strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with real-world AI solutions to enhance validation operations is highly desirable.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, debug, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and integration test cases for server platforms using Python, Robot Framework, JavaScript, Selenium, and related tools.Drive continuous improvement in test automation practices, incorporating AI-driven techniques, participating in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and sharing best practices.Own end-to-end server integration testing, including platform-level test planning, execution, metrics reporting, and defect management.Apply architectural expertise across x86 and ARM server platforms to ensure comprehensive test coverage and rapid issue identification.Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, OS, and software teams to diagnose and resolve complex system integration test issues.

Manage and maintain test environments, including system installation, hardware configuration changes, and firmware and software updates.

Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.6+ years of hands-on work experience in server platform testing, automation, and system integration roles.Strong expertise in test automation using Python, Robot Framework, Selenium, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, or similar technologies.Deep understanding of server hardware architectures and BIOS/UEFI across both x86 and ARM-based platforms.Working knowledge of operating systems, virtualization, and networking concepts; system administration experience with Windows and/or Linux is a plus.Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex system integration and automation challenges.Experience with test management and defect tracking software tools such as Jira, SpiraPlan, TestRail, or equivalent tools.Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure.Expertise in server security, storage systems, and performance tuning.Hand-on validation and troubleshooting experience with HPE ProLiant servers.Experience with real-world AI technologies and their application in test automation or validation process improvements.
