Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Data Scientist. This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program. 

Roles and responsibilities: 

Conditioned Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) Lead effort to optimize scheduled maintenance, thereby reducing Lifecycle Cost (LCC)Implements, supports and maintains a Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) closed loop data reporting systemTracks all failures of functional equipment parts from date of failure to date of closure in compliance with Customer’s closed loop FRACAS requirementsCollects diagnostic data and maintenance repair data on repair/fix actions to improve RAM performanceAnalyzes equipment designs and provides Baseline Comparative Systems (BCS) assessments, MIL-HDBK-217, Electronic Predicted Reliability Data (EPRD) and Non-Electronic Predicted Reliability Data (NPRD) PredictionsDevelops Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) to assess Logistic and Mission Reliability requirementsDevelops Maintenance Task Analyses (MTAs) to determine component repair times, crew size, support equipment, skill levels and maintenance tasks required to restore a component to an operational conditionDevelops Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) to identity single point failures, safety critical failure modes, fault isolation and detection percentages and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) scheduled maintenance assessmentsIdentifies Reliability Critical Items (RCIs)Ensures a failure reporting information system through which an historical trend database can be managed. Ensure accuracy and completeness of failure reporting data, the analysis and the root cause corrective action implementedCompiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processesEnsures that failure mode root cause and corrective action (RCCA) measures meet acceptable R&M standardsAs necessary, proposes changes in design, to improve system and ensure corrective action effectivenessDevelops and presents RAM assessments and lessons learned to the Integrated Product Teams (IPT)Collaborates with the Supplier Management Team (SMT) and suppliers on ensuring all RAM Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRL) are comprehensive and align with all technical requirement in  their respective Data Item Descriptions (DID)Maintains RAM tasking updates on the RAM Agile Jira Board for each Sprint of the Program Increments (PI)

Basic Qualifications:

12 years of relatable work experience with Bachelors in science or 10 years with Masters or 8 Years with a PhD. An additional 4years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degreeMust be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsMust be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needsMust possess excellent oral and written communication skillsMust be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business or STEM related disciplineExperience in developing FMECAs, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and reliability predictionsExperience in developing mission reliability models for subsystems or assembliesExperience with TeamcenterProficient with Reliasoft Prior experience developing software reliability modelsExperience with supplier management In depth Aerospace / ICBM experienceKnowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $179,600.00 - $269,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
