Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is seeking a Senior Staff - Chief Engineer in our SDS Division. This leadership role will be located in Roy, Utah and support the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:
The definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elementsCoordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activitiesEnsures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standardsMaintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the companyContinually coordinates with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customerThis role will be the Chief Engineer assigned to ICBM Sustainment, responsible for controlling the technical baseline through change board controlCoordinates between Systems Engineering and product engineering teams to facilitate system requirements compliance, modeling and analysis, hardware/software design, verification, validation, and integration activities across elements contributing to design and deliveryAdditional responsibilities to include support on the Sentinel program in the Chief Engineers Office, as required in addition to ICBM Sustainment supportBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 14 years of progressive engineering experience; 12 years with Master’s; 10 years with PhD.Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 yearsMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needsExtensive background in missile systemsDemonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited informationWell-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processesThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Master’s Degree in STEM5+ years of ICBM experienceExperience with nuclear command and control ground and launch systemsExperience with nuclear surety, hardness, and weapon system safetyCandidate must have good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good oral and written presentation skillsPosition Benefits

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $162,500.00 - $243,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
