Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Payload Re-entry System (PRS) Systems Engineering Manager 2. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading their team in coordination with stakeholders from the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) skillsets (Booster, G&C, PBACM, Payloads, SE&I) to develop and mature the PRS and lower level specifications. The successful applicant will:
• Lead a team of Systems Engineers responsible for requirements, architecture, and verification of the Payload Re-entry System of the Sentinel flight vehicle
• MBSE Assignment Duties: Provide proposal inputs, Basis Of Estimates (BOEs), and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
• MBSE Assignment Duties: Provide project and technical for the MBSE team, including:
• Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
• Requirement Allocation & decomposition:
• Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
• Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures
• Requirements Verification:
• Perform Verification Planning in MBSE tools. Create and maintain a Requirements Verification Architecture Model (RVAM) in Cameo EA
• Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
• Architecture: Create and maintain SysML and UPDM models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Payload Systems Sentinel structure and behavior using accurate UPDM/SysML representations according to OMG standards.
• Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
• Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
• Support team members in interfacing with subcontractors regarding subcontractor requirements, architecture, interface, and verifications development
• Review contractor SDRLs. Create CDRL content from contractor SDRLs when needed
• MBSE Assignment Duties: Interface with other IPTs to develop interface requirements and ConOps
• MBSE Assignment Duties: Interface with USAF customer
• MBSE Assignment Duties: Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) for the PLT MBSE scope of work
• Functional Homeroom: Support department initiatives; technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and NCTA project leadership
• Functional Homeroom: Provide people leadership for a Systems Engineering organization, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning as part of the Strategic Deterrent Systems business unit Functional Homeroom
• Functional Homeroom: Support employee development; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute programs
• Functional Homeroom: Provide ownership of and direction of processes used in the functional group
• Functional Homeroom: Support staffing and workload forecast; Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, and performance management (including Quarterly Connections)

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This position may offer a competitive relocation package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 6 years of related experience
• At least 1-year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD TOP SECRET security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• 4 years MBSE experience including requirements decomposition and allocation, requirements verification, verification planning, system architecture development with physical, logical, and functional architecture.
• 1 year of direct experience with DOORS and specification authoring with verification methodology
• 1 year of direct experience with MBSE concepts and methodology for both functional and physical architecture viewpoints
• Experience with engineering release processes and CAD principles and practices
• Experience with EVMS principles and practices and direct experience with EMVS execution
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• 3 years of experience with ICBM Weapon System
• Experience with Requirements verification activity including test and analysis
• Experience with threat modeling and requirements decomposition based on threat modeling
• Direct experience with CAMEO as an MBSE tool
• Direct Experience with Teamcenter PLM and NX CAD
• 1 year of ICBM MBSE experience
• Experience with nuclear weapons
• Active Sentinel SAP Access
