Northrop Grumman Space Systems currently has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
This position will support the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Systems Engineering team. As a hardware systems engineer, this position will help rigorously design and document the hardware architecture, components, interfaces, and performance of the C2 system. This position will develop hardware Trade Studies, Analyses of Alternatives, and Design Specifications to help finalize the C2 technical baseline leading up to the Sentinel Critical Design Review campaign. This position will work closely with a team of Systems Engineers and Hardware Engineers using Agile execution methodologies. This position will help resolve complex requirements challenges resulting from a many-tiered Specification Tree, and the position will be responsible for coordinating with Engineering teams across the Command and Launch IPT at all levels of the spec tree. This position will be responsible for leading complex negotiations with Hardware stakeholders in the areas of Cybersecurity, Nuclear Safety, and Software Engineering.
