Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Oversees and manages the technical aspects of prime contract requirement flow down to the supplier management teamReviews status of traceability and allocation of requirements; manages schedules and prepares status reportsAssesses project and technical issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectivesDevelops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, program managers, and data analysts

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

Overseeing and managing the operational aspects of new and ongoing projects to support program technical and non-technical requirementsWork side by side with Supplier Management Teams (SMT) to support the development of Statement of Work (SOW) and Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRL) packages in IBM Rationale DOORS softwareCapture, track and manage prime and subcontract requirements and maintain 100% traceability of those requirements from the prime contract to the subcontract levelInterface with stakeholders to derive master contract requirements to support subcontract Request for Proposals (RFP)The ability to trace a master contract requirement to subordinate documents, ensuring compliance with the issued contract and specificationsAssessing project issues and assisting in developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectivesCoordinate with technical leads and specialty engineering on tailoring of statement of work contractsContribute to product and process quality by helping to define and track metrics and leading indicatorsResponsible for the development of the supplier statement of work template for the program and compliance document modulePartner with supply management to enable successful flow down and traceability to the statement of workUtilize DOORS for Statement of Work requirement management, allocation and traceability

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems level (T03) or Sr Principal Systems level (T04).

Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD.

Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

Required for Both Levels:

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needExperience with technical requirements managementHigh level of proficiency using Microsoft Office suiteExperience with Suppler Statements of Work

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of the following: Developing Statement of Work (SOW) and Supplier Data Requirement List packages (SDRL). Developing, implementing and providing updates on Project SchedulesIBM Rationale DOORS software experiencePrevious Project Management (or similar) knowledge/experienceExperience working with Air Force Manuals or Mil Standards

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
