Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Engineer / Principal Systems Test Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT or Colorado Springs, CO, and supports the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do
Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, project managers, end users, and customer and IT managementRecommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration managementIntegration of IP based devices into networks architecture. This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications
Engineer Systems Test:
Bachelor's degree in Science with 2 years of experience or a Master's degree with 0 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.2 years of experience operating in an Agile environment using any of the Atlassian software tool sets (JIRA, Confluence)2 years of experience with HW or SW integration in a lab / test environment2 years of experience integrating COTS, GOTS and custom software in a security constrained environment2 years of experience with Linux or Cisco operating systemsPrincipal Engineer Systems Test:

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needFamiliarity with lab equipment (DMMs, O-scopes, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.) and lab processes (ESD, FOD, Configuration Management, etc.)Ability to install software packages and patchesMust hold one or more current CompTIA certifications for an IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ or SSCP) or higher to satisfy DOD 8570-1M requirementFamiliarity with COTS network management and configuration systemsAbility to effectively communicate issues and help provide solutions across teams / sites.Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot system using built in OS functionality and system logsPerform OS tuning, understand networking, perform user management, perform security hardening, and review OS logs as needed and perform system backupsExperience with scripting, particularly in shell scripting.
