Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer (Level 1)/Systems Engineer (Level 2) to join its team in Roy, UT supporting the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

Candidate should be knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, aerodynamics, statistical mathematics, flight control, and guidance and navigation. A successful candidate would be familiar with one or more of the following scripting/programming languages: MATLAB, Fortran, and C++.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements analysis for development of analytical toolsModify existing post-flight analysis tools written in MATLAB and C++Develop modernized tools based on legacy Fortran toolsFlight test data analysis to include Best Estimate of Trajectory generation, GPS signal processing and refinement, and RV accuracy analysisSystem performance assessment, requirements analysis, verification and validation, design, development, and integrationCreate technical reports and present analysis resultsInterface with internal and external customers

Basic Qualifications:

Associate Systems Engineer (level 1):

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from and 0 years of experience.Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearanceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needExperience with one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, MATLAB (school or work experience)Experience with Systems Engineering (SE) or Modeling and Simulation & Analysis (MS&A)Advanced use of standard Microsoft Office products to include development tools

Systems Engineer (level 2):

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years of experience.Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearanceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needExperience with one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, MATLAB (school or work experience)Experience with Systems Engineering (SE) or Modeling and Simulation & Analysis (MS&A)Advanced use of standard Microsoft Office products to include development tools

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similarExperience with one or more of the following knowledge areas: ICBM flight dynamics, targeting, orbital mechanics, reentry dynamics, Object Oriented Programing (OOP)Experience with version control management software similar to GitExperience with software documentation development, testing (unit or functional), or Verification & Validation (V&V)Demonstrated understanding of functional requirement development, requirements analysis, functional analysis, trades, and architecture definitionDemonstrated expertise soliciting input from internal and external stakeholders, synthesizing data, and communicating complex results to technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
