Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking an experienced **Senior Wildlife Biologist** to support some of California's most exciting transportation, power, and water projects. This hybrid position would report to AECOM's Oakland office and will support a variety of projects throughout California. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our group of more than 100 environmental professionals in the Bay Area. **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** + Act as Technical Lead or Task Manager on multiple projects, including responsible and timely management and oversight of project tasks, schedules, and project teams. + Utilize a background in biology to inform the preparation of, and provide senior review of, technical memorandums, permitting documents, and other technical reports. + Conduct as-needed wildlife surveys and site visits and oversee and manage field efforts conducted by others. + Work closely with clients and internal staff on complex projects involving biological resource protection, species surveys, permitting, mitigation, and/or restoration. + Contribute as an active and positive member of AECOM’s Environment practice. + Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level staff as needed. **About AECOM’s Environment Business Line** Join AECOM to be part of an expert global team who is connected through a well-developed, worldwide, internal technical practice network through which you can learn from and brainstorm with the best in the world. Our global clients and their projects span a variety of market sectors and geographies and require innovative technical solutions to solve wide-ranging environmental problems. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related field. + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education as a task lead or technical lead on projects involving habitat assessments, wildlife surveys, environmental permitting, and/or construction monitoring. + Valid U.S Driver's license is required. + Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required. **Preferred Skills/Experience:** + 8+ years of relevant experience. + Experienced in managing project tasks and schedules, and experience acting as a lead reviewer of technical reports. + Experience as a field and technical lead, providing oversight and guidance to junior and mid-level biologists and other technical staff. + Project Management experience is desired but not required. + Working knowledge of special-status wildlife of northern California, and the associated state and federal environmental protections. Familiar with the agencies having jurisdiction over special-status species. + Excellent oral and written communication skills with both clients and internal staff. + Good organizational skills and a strong detail-oriented work style. + Experienced in developing project scopes and estimating project costs. Marketing and proposal experience is desired but not required. + CDFW Scientific Collecting Permit and/or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service 10(a)(1)(A) permit(s). + Knowledge of and experience with the California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act. + Prior work in Environmental Consulting is highly desired. **Additional Information** Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
