CGI is looking for a Senior WebLogic Administrator who loves building stable, scalable environments — and making them smarter and more automated.
In this role, you'll own the health and performance of our WebLogic platforms, ensuring the applications our business depends on run smoothly around the clock. You'll work hands-on with WebLogic installations, domain configuration, clustering, patching, and upgrades, and you'll play a key role in lifecycle operations like deployments, migrations, and environment refreshes.
This role has a strong preference to be located at one of the following CGI offices: Fairfax, VA; Knoxville, TN; or Lafayette, LA.
. Manage and maintain WebLogic environments, ensuring stability and performance.
. Automate operations using Python and Ansible to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
. Perform WebLogic installation, domain configuration, clustering, patching, and upgrades across environments.
. Support middleware lifecycle operations, including deployments, migrations, and environment refreshes.
. Automate administrative activities using Python, Ansible, WLST, and other supported automation frameworks to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
. Maintain and enhance operational scripts used for lifecycle tasks, start/stop processes, and environment provisioning.
. Analyze and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues to minimize downtime.
. Contribute to architectural decisions involving WebLogic domain structures, clustering strategies, load balancing, and middleware integration patterns.
. Help define and maintain middleware best practices, security configurations, and operational standards.
. Support enhancements to authentication, authorization, and security policy configurations within WebLogic domains. Collaborate with application teams, DBAs, cloud engineers, and infrastructure staff to support full‑stack application delivery.
. Participate in planning for cloud migrations, OCI‑hosted middleware architectures, and system modernization efforts.
. Provide guidance during DR preparation and execution involving WebLogic server recovery and startup sequences. Monitor system performance, JVM behavior, and WebLogic health indicators; identify and resolve bottlenecks proactively.
. Review and interpret logs, diagnostics outputs, and audit trails to support root‑cause analysis.
. Document processes, configurations, scripts, and procedures to ensure operational continuity and cross‑team knowledge transfer.
. Maintain clear and up‑to‑date runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and environment maps.
. 7+ years of hands-on experience administering Oracle WebLogic Server in enterprise production environments.
. Strong experience with WebLogic installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and ongoing support
. Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible)
. Expertise in middleware performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization
. Deep understanding of middleware‑database integration, JVM tuning, and domain architectures.
. Experience with high‑availability architectures, load balancing, failover strategies, and enterprise security practices.
