Senior Web Software Engineer – .NET / Azure

At Wolters Kluwer Scandinavia, we are transforming our flagship tax and accounting software from a legacy Windows-based monolith into a modern, modular, cloud-native platform.

We are looking for a Senior Web Software Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building and shaping Capego Web.

This is a transition role at a pivotal stage of our SaaS journey.

The Opportunity

Our current platform is primarily built in C# .NET with legacy desktop elements that are being phased out. We operate with monthly releases in a hybrid architecture and are now moving toward a modular, Azure-based cloud-native setup.

You will join at a time when architectural direction, web maturity, and engineering decisions truly matter. The first major Capego Web release is planned for the end of the year.

Your Impact

You will work hands-on in C# .NET within an Azure environment and take ownership of WebAssembly components running in the frontend. Your focus will be to help move us from a desktop-heavy architecture toward scalable web and cloud solutions.

Approximately 80 percent of your time will be hands-on development. The remaining time will involve design discussions, collaboration with the technical lead and architects, and elevating modern web practices within a senior team.

Tech Environment

You will work with:

• C# / .NET
• Azure services including Service Bus, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Key Vault, Redis and Storage Accounts
• Azure DevOps with CI, CD and infrastructure as code
• WebAssembly in the frontend

WPF exists today but is being phased out. Experience with modern web technologies is more important than expertise in a specific framework.

What We Are Looking For

You bring strong experience in .NET development and modern web application architecture. You are comfortable working in Azure-based environments and contributing to CI/CD practices.

Equally important, you are pragmatic. You can inspire peers, contribute to architectural discussions within governance boundaries, and drive improvement without being dogmatic. You balance quality with delivery and understand product-driven development.

Swedish is strongly preferred for team collaboration and informal communication. English is required.

About the Team

You will join Team Alpha, a group of senior developers working in a collaborative and informal environment. We operate in a pragmatic SAFe setup with quarterly planning and are moving toward more frequent cloud-based releases.

What We Offer

You will contribute to modernising a business-critical product used by major accounting firms across Scandinavia. We offer a hybrid work model, collective agreement, pension and healthcare benefits, flexible working hours, and a modern office at Amerikaskjulet by the waterfront.

Our Interview Practices

To maintain a fair and genuine hiring process, we kindly ask that all candidates participate in interviews without the assistance of AI tools or external prompts. Our interview process is designed to assess your individual skills, experiences, and communication style. We value authenticity and want to ensure we’re getting to know you—not a digital assistant. To help maintain this integrity, we ask to remove virtual backgrounds and include in-person interviews in our hiring process. Please note that use of AI-generated responses or third-party support during interviews will be grounds for disqualification from the recruitment process.

Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process.
