Senior Valuation Associate - Alternative Investments

Overview
A leading global investment firm with over $50B in assets under management is seeking a Senior Valuation Associate. This role offers exposure to complex valuation work across private credit and equity investments, supporting a dynamic portfolio spanning multiple industries. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week in-office.

Key Responsibilities

Perform quarterly valuation analyses on companies and securities using internal valuation models.Monitor portfolio company performance, including financial spreading and analytics.Communicate trends and performance drivers to senior management and report on credit metrics.Liaise with deal teams, finance/operations teams, and external valuation consultants.Synthesize data to support, challenge, and reconcile conclusions, including back-testing and stress-testing.Recommend enhancements to valuation processes and methodologies in line with best practices.Manage external valuation audit processes, including internal controls.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows).Familiarity with capital markets, corporate securities, and capital structures; experience with financial modeling.Strong financial statement analysis skills.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines with superior organizational skills.Ability to interpret complex legal documents.Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired Background

2+ years of accounting/finance experience with exposure to valuation techniques (DCF, market comparables).Background in private credit, valuation consulting, or Big 4 accounting firm.Preference for prior credit/direct lending experience.Progress toward CPA license or CFA charter a plus.

Compensation
$90,000 - $110,000 + bonus and best-in-class benefits
