Must-Have Skills:
• 6+ years of experience in test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java (preferred); Python or C# is acceptable.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver or equivalent automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of automation frameworks, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Strong experience in API testing using tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Good understanding of testing principles such as the Testing Pyramid.
Good-to-Have Skills:
• Familiarity with JavaScript or PHP, especially in web or CMS-based environments.
• Exposure to cloud-based testing environments.
The Senior Test Automation Lead will define and drive the automation testing strategy, ensuring robust frameworks and best practices across multiple teams. This role involves designing and developing scalable automation solutions for UI and API testing using Java (and optionally TypeScript), promoting TDD and shift-left principles, and integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines. The lead will collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to optimize coverage, maintain cloud-based test environments, and ensure high-quality delivery through technical leadership, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and maintainable automated test frameworks.
• Develop automated test scripts for UI and API testing using Java and Selenium (or equivalent tools).
• Convert manual test scenarios into automated tests where applicable.
• Maintain and enhance existing automation suites.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and collaborate with developers and analysts to resolve issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Participate in story refinement, risk analysis, and test planning activities.
• Analyse requirements and acceptance criteria to create clear, robust test cases.
• Execute tests, log defects, and provide clear status updates to internal and client stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and promote automation best practices.
• Represent QA in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Adhere to established QA processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
