**What's The Role**
Perform maintenance service for a wide variety of machinery, automotive and some heavy equipment. Lubrication of various vehicles and equipment and performs preventative maintenance. Perform overhaul and repair work on various company automobiles, vans, trucks, and other automotive and construction related equipment
**What You'll Do**
+ Performs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic overhaul and repair work on automobiles, vans, light trucks, and other automotive, equipment and other mechanical-related equipment.
+ Performs scheduled preventative maintenance checks.
+ Liaise with the major dealership on the island for the procurement of new vehicles and parts.
+ Troubleshoots and diagnoses major and minor mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems in all types of fleet and related equipment.
+ Fabricates, installs, adjusts, replaces or rebuilds systems, components and related parts.
+ Mounts various types of new/used systems or equipment on new/used vehicles or equipment.
+ Liaise with garages and provide updates on the status of fleet vehicles.
+ Documents maintenance, repairs and problems on work orders. May prepare reports and maintain records.
+ Provides technical assistance, direction and advice to other workers, and give guidance on maintenance and minor mechanical repair projects.
+ Installs and fabricates a variety of metal fixtures.
+ Installs, overhauls, rebuilds on engines and systems.
+ Troubleshoots and evaluates equipment repair needs; plans strategies, parts, tools sourcing purchasing and equipment needs.
+ Plans and coordinates repairs with other work/service areas.
+ Performs oil servicing, greasing.
+ Installs, repairs, maintains and designs automotive plumbing systems.
+ Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on various company vehicles and equipment.
+ Performs scheduled maintenance checks on equipment at remote sites.
+ Performs safety inspections on various company vehicles and equipment.
+ Maintains maintenance records.
+ Changes oil, filters, brakes, and fluids on various company vehicles and equipment.
+ Test-drives various company vehicles and equipment.
+ Liaise with the mobile team, and visit various sites across the island
**Knowledge & Experience**
+ Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic Diploma in Automotive Engineering or any equivalent qualification.
+ Demonstrate high level of knowledge to diagnose and repair both simple and complex mechanical devices /systems.
+ Maintain current knowledge of mechanic and mechanical test equipment.
+ Must be capable of troubleshooting mechanical and engine system problems and carrying out the required repairs.
+ Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license including P, R, T and Heavy T.
+ Ability to demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance at work.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
+ Ability to learn from directions, observations, and mistakes, and apply procedures using good judgment.
+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team; ability to interact appropriately with others.
+ Ability to work with or without supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or action/discipline.
