Senior Technical Product Owner

OnTarget is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner to join our team in a fully remote capacity (preferably based in Charlotte, NC, East Coast, or Central Time Zone). In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Product. The Senior Technical Product Owner is responsible for defining requirements, prioritizing development work, and ensuring that engineering delivers maximum business value. You will act as the bridge between stakeholders, product management, and development teams to drive the successful delivery of platform enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze needs and align the product roadmap with strategic goals
• Develop clear, detailed feature requirements and user stories
• Break down complex initiatives into MVPs, milestones, and phases
• Prioritize backlog items based on value and alignment with product strategy
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
• Track KPIs and system performance to support continuous improvement
• Make day-to-day decisions on scope, trade-offs, and priorities
• Create designs, wireframes, data flows, and documentation
• Act as the product ambassador for internal teams and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
• 6-8 years of technical/software product management or Product Owner experience
• 6-8 years of experience managing projects from ideation to release
• Strong understanding of system architecture, cloud technologies, APIs, microservices, and data pipelines
• Ability to write clear technical requirements for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience mapping business workflows to software processes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment and manage multiple projects
• Experience writing technical or user documentation
Education:
• BA/BS degree
• Background in software engineering or computer science (degree or hands-on experience)
Compensation & Benefits:
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $70k – $90k.
Base pay is determined by factors such as work location, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include various other forms of pay.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive health, dental, and wellness benefits, which begin on your 60th day of employment.
