We are seeking a Senior Technical Banking Environment Consultant to support our credit union and financial institution clients across Canada. As part of CGI’s national retail banking practice, you will join an experienced team helping clients navigate significant industry transformation.
Credit unions are facing rapid changes driven by digital transformation, including mobile services, analytics, automation, open banking, and partnerships with FinTechs. CGI helps clients modernize operations and stay competitive by guiding them through these evolving technological and customer experience demands.
As a Senior Technical Banking Environment Consultant, you will ensure stable and efficient core banking environments, including batch processing, daily operations, incident management, and application monitoring. You will support environment builds, deployments, and upgrades while driving reliability improvements. The role requires strong technical leadership, independent execution, and effective collaboration with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
This job may be located anywhere in Canada, with customers located in British Columbia. Therefore, the incumbent may be required on occasion to adjust their schedules and working hours to accommodate virtual meeting engagements in a time zone that they are not located in.
• 7+ years of IT support experience in cross functional enterprise environments.
• Strong Windows batch file and scripting skills.
• Solid understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Experience working in SLA driven service delivery environments.
• Proven technical leadership and project support experience.
• Strong skills in Intel server environments.
• Hands on support for multi tier enterprise applications (services, batch, database).
• Skilled in troubleshooting Windows servers, logs, batch jobs, and SQL Server.
• Experience supporting multiple environment tiers (QA, IST, UAT, Staging, Production).
• Effective communicator able to work in high expectation client environments.
• Windows system administration, configuration, and operational support
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, CMD, Windows batch)
• Experience with automated schedulers (Control M, GECS)
• Ability to build, support, and troubleshoot batch jobs and multi tier workflows
• Strong SQL Server skills (queries, troubleshooting, refreshes, diagnostics)
• Experience with financial or transaction based applications; banking or high availability environments
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
• Application monitoring, diagnostics, and root cause analysis using logs, job outputs, and performance metrics
• End to end application environment management (services, configs, integrations, DB connectivity)
• Experience deploying application code, updating configuration files, and validating environment readiness
• Experience enhancing environments through improved monitoring, alerting, automation, or documentation
• Strong communication and coordination skills in structured client environments
• Exposure to WBDK, Wealthview Banking, Ovation, RFS, or similar core banking platforms
• Useful experience with Azure (VMs, networking, storage, monitoring, access management)
• Familiarity with DevOps/automation tools (build & release pipelines, scripting frameworks)
• IT diploma or degree; Microsoft certifications especially Azure is an asset.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Wealthview Banking, Ovation, RFS, or WBDK platform components.
• Azure experience (VMs, networking, storage, monitoring, access management).
• Familiarity with DevOps/automation tools (build & release pipelines, scripting frameworks).
• Experience standardizing batch patterns, job sequencing, alerts, and reporting.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000.00 – $125,000.00. This role is an existing vacancy.
