Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager or Director with a CPA designation to lead complex tax engagements, manage client relationships, and provide strategic tax planning and consulting. This individual will play a pivotal role in our leadership team, with the capability and ambition to advance toward equity partnership within our firm.

This position offers the opportunity to:
• Manage high-value client engagements.
• Sign returns and provide authoritative tax guidance.
• Mentor and develop less experienced tax professionals.
• Work directly with business owners and their leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage corporate, partnership, and individual tax engagements for closely held businesses.
• Review and sign tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Lead client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on tax planning, compliance, and consulting matters.
• Collaborate with business owners and executives on proactive tax strategies to optimize business and personal outcomes.
• Coach, mentor, and develop tax staff, fostering technical growth and leadership capabilities.
• Maintain a strong presence in the local business community and help drive firm growth initiatives.
• Contribute to firm strategy and planning, with a path toward equity partnership.

Qualifications
• Required: Active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record managing complex tax engagements from start to finish.
• Strong expertise in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
• Experience working with small to mid-sized, closely held businesses.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop staff members.
• Excellent client relationship and business development skills.
• Ability and willingness to relocate to northern Indiana or southwest Michigan (relocation assistance provided).

Preferred Background
• Experience in tax planning for owners of closely held businesses.
• Familiarity with industries such as manufacturing, construction, distribution, and real estate.
• Prior advancement to Senior Manager, Director, or Partner-track roles in a public accounting firm.
