Overall Purpose: Perform moderately complex tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions by analyzing and interpreting tax legislation, ensuring regulatory adherence and strategic tax efficiency to minimize the organization’s legal tax liabilities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Tax Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company’s tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws. Advise on business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other significant activities.
• Compliance and Reporting: Oversee preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with all tax reporting requirements and coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Tax Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks and develop internal controls for tax processes. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the organization.
• Team Leadership and Financial Reporting: Mentor tax team, providing guidance and support. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax-related financial reporting and assist with tax provisions for financial statements.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Conduct tax research, provide advisory services, participate in budgeting and forecasting, manage relationships with external advisors, and evaluate tax technology solutions. Perform additional tasks as required to support the tax function.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 3+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
