As a Tax Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for:
Participating in engagements requiring accounting & tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates including reviewing public information and tax-specific information.Research and analysis of a wide range of accounting & tax issues encountered on our projects while working closely with our engagement teams.Day-to-day participation of projects through delivery of tax consulting services to the client.The Team:
National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) is a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP made up of a number of tax service offerings including Strategic Reviews, Inventory Tax Services, and Meals & Entertainment Tax Services. Each NFTS service offering has been developed and built as a result of a tax planning opportunity, a marketplace need, or a technological innovation – all with the purpose of delivering results for our clients. NFTS service lines provide tax planning and compliance support for the largest organizations across all industries.
One of the teams in National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) is Meals & Entertainment Tax Services. This team consists of professionals providing tax-saving services to companies that have relatively large non-deductible M&E expenditures and can benefit from a detailed review of their historic and current methodologies which often results in a significant reduction in non-deductible amount. Our services also include taxpayers under IRS audit of their M&E expenses and calculations. Clients include companies that have a non-deductible M&E amount of $500,000 or more for meals and entertainment and/or a number of open years, and companies with a cumbersome process to calculate their non-deductible amount.
Qualifications:
Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field· Able to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
· One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process or willing and able to obtain
Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
If not CPA eligible:
Licensed attorney
Enrolled Agent
Preferred:
Big 4 experience or equivalent Demonstrated sound judgment and instincts in evaluating complex scenarios· Demonstrated effective research, verbal and written communication skills
· Aptitude in MS Word and Excel
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $73,430 to $167,180.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
