Hendrick Automotive Group Location: 6000 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28212 TITLE: Senior Tax Accountant REPORTS TO: Tax Director and Manager MAIN FUNCTION: The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state compliance work SAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Review and/or prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals. + Review and/or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships. + Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships. + Review various year end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages. + Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships. + Assist in gathering information for tax audits. + Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have. + Research federal, state and local tax issues + Responsible for the mentoring of staff MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + 4-Year accounting degree + Strong interpersonal skills + Ability to be a “Team Player” + Ability to handle pressure. + Handle directions with minimal supervision + 5-10 years experience in the preparation/review of tax returns + Working knowledge of applicable tax law and regulations + Proficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications. + Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.
