Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Dashboard Developer with deep expertise in Tableau to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex datasets into intuitive, interactive, and actionable visualizations that drive business strategy. You will serve as the subject matter expert on data visualization best practices, dashboard performance optimization, and user experience design within the Tableau ecosystem. The position will be focused on data quality and timeliness dashboards from 25+ payers across 10+ data domains. Skills and Requirements Dashboard Development & Design - Design, build, and deploy high-impact Tableau dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for various stakeholders, from operational teams to C-level executives. - Translate business requirements into technical specifications and visual solutions. - Implement advanced Tableau features, including Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, parameters, sets, actions, and custom mapping. - Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure dashboards are user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing. Data Management & Optimization - Collaborate with Data Engineers to design efficient data sources and extracts for optimal dashboard performance. - Write and optimize complex SQL queries to manipulate and prepare data for visualization. - Troubleshoot and resolve dashboard performance issues, including extract refresh failures and slow rendering times. - Maintain and document data definitions, calculated fields, and dashboard logic. Strategy & Leadership - Establish and enforce data visualization standards, templates, and style guides across the organization. - Drive the adoption of self-service analytics by training users and creating documentation. - Stay up-to-date with the latest Tableau features and industry trends in Business Intelligence. Required Skills & Experience - Experience: 6+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, with at least 4+ years dedicated to Tableau development. - Tableau Expertise: Proven mastery of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Online. Ability to create complex, interactive dashboards without relying on default templates. - SQL Proficiency: Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, window functions) for data analysis and transformation. - Data Concepts: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake), and ETL processes. - Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications - Certification: Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Tableau Desktop Certified Professional. - Scripting: Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics or data preparation. - Additional Tools: Familiarity with other BI tools (Power BI, Looker) or data engineering tools (dbt, Alteryx). - Web Technologies: Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript for embedding dashboards or customizing portals.
