Job Description:

Our Parsons Corona, California office is now hiring for a Senior Supervising Engineer to integrate the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start-up aspects for various road, highway and transportation infrastructure projects in Southern California. This role will support multiple Gold Line 2B2, Caltrans, RCTC, METRO and other traditional and regional Design-Build projects in California and other regions as well. You may manage a subtask of a significantly large and complex project or study in accordance with contractual obligations. Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project, including coordination of technical disciplines, procurement of materials and equipment, and construction planning assistance. Education and experience over several years must be sufficient for the incumbent to serve as a Supervising Engineer on a large project or several smaller projects. Relocation to the project site in the region may be required at times. We offer hybrid remote working scenario for this role (meaning ability to work from home 1-2 days per week). This role does require reporting to our Corona office weekly.

What You'll Be Doing:

Supervises a group of engineers and design personnel, in one discipline or multi-disciplines, by directing technical engineering assignments and coordinating project staffing assignments.Ensures that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and Engineers from other disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications.Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable. Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.Helps to define discipline design organization and participation on a project, including scope of work, design criteria, schedules, standards, and procedures.Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.Supervises the production of project drawings and design calculations.Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.Advises engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could effect project completion and/or profitability.Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures.Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is required15 years or more of related field engineering experience with road/ highway & infrastructure projects, and broad general engineering background.California Professional (PE) registration is required.Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads is desirable.

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $217,400.00
