Description Our team is proud to partner with a highly respected, award-winning organization seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Accountant. This role goes far beyond theoretical knowledge. Our client is looking for an independent, practical accountant who understands the true flow of the general ledger and financial statements, and who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. What You’ll Do: This is not a heavy job-cost or work-in-progress (WIP) accounting role. While construction or project-based accounting experience is helpful, it is not required. Our client truly needs a strong general ledger (GL) accountant with a solid foundation in core accounting principles and the confidence to work both autonomously and efficiently. Key Competencies for Success: + Strong grasp of debits and credits and their impact on financial statements (e.g., correct classification of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses) + Hands-on experience with: + Account reconciliations and variance investigation + Payroll liabilities and reconciliations + Fixed asset management and tracking + Prepaids and amortization schedules + Journal entry preparation and review + Proven track record of quickly learning new systems and processes, with the ability to take full ownership of assigned work + High attention to detail and organizational skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Work Environment & Expectations: You’ll join a close-knit accounting team that has recently transitioned to a new ERP platform. While concise software training resources are available, training on foundational accounting concepts will be very limited. They need someone who already “knows the numbers” and is a self-starter who readily adapts to new technologies and processes. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. • At least 5 years of accounting experience with a strong attention to detail. • Expertise in project accounting or job costing within construction, manufacturing, or engineering industries. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts. • Strong analytical skills with experience handling large volumes of data. • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining high accuracy in all tasks. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. • Problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving effective solutions.
