A well-established insurance management firm seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support the planning, reporting, and accounting functions for an assigned portfolio. This role offers a unique blend of accounting, financial analysis, and exposure to insurance‑specific reporting.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for multiple captive insurance entitiesAssist with financial modeling related to new clients, products, and business opportunitiesPrepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliationsSupport general ledger activities, cash accounting, and disbursementsHelp maintain and enhance financial reporting processes across budgeting, forecasting, and actualsCollaborate with internal stakeholders on financial analysis and business planningAssist external CPAs with audits and tax filingsSupport regulatory and compliance reporting requirementsIdentify opportunities for process improvement and automationRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2+ years of progressive accounting experience within public accounting, insurance, or another relative industryCPA (or pursuing certification) is preferredStrong understanding of GAAP; exposure to tax accounting is a plusExperience with financial statement preparation and analysisAdvanced Excel skills (financial modeling, large datasets, complex formulas)Strong analytical skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently while collaborating across teams
