**Job Description:** **This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered** Position includes using various billing and tax applications and resources to research and resolve transaction tax determination and billing discrepancy questions from AT&T residential and business customers. Position requires the ability to locate and assemble information from customer tax inquiry systems, billing applications, tax tables, solve basic arithmetic problems, and communicate effectively with internal sources such as Sales, Care, Collections, Office of the President (OOP), Legal, DTV, Research and Planning. Reads and interprets customer tax inquiry, accesses correct resources (i.e., tax rate tables, legends, jurisdictional coding, SOC Codes, PRI codes, effective tax rates and surcharge charges) to recalculate tax and fees, to timely respond to inquiries. Researches and verifies tax billing to provide support to customer tax inquiry or identifies and initiates resolution of tax discrepancies that requires additional investigation, opening/following a case to internal IT or data team for cause/determination/quantification/resolution. Connects with peers as required, using all available resources, to bring successful resolution to customer tax inquiries. Responds to inquiry and maintains tax inquiry records per established policies and procedures. **Experience** : + Strong technical knowledge of state and local transaction tax laws and regulations. + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. + Proficiency in tax software and other financial management tools such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL queries, Snowflake is a plus + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills. + At least four to five years of experience in tax billing or a related field. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, communication skills, as well as inter-company customer facing skills. Transaction Tax experience (compliance/audit/billing), ability to multitask, work efficiently and recognize when a customer tax inquiry case requires additional resources to investigate, and resolve is suggested.
