Senior Specialist - Catastrophe Risk Management

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Catastrophe team at Marsh Mc Lennan. This role will be based in Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Job Title : Senior Specialist - Actuarial

Location : Gurgaon

We will count on you to:

Conduct thorough quality checks and edits on client-supplied data and produce detailed exposure profiles.Execute analyses using catastrophe models such as Verisk Touchstone to estimate potential catastrophe losses.Develop comprehensive knowledge of catastrophe models and understand associated uncertainties.Analyze exposures and modeling results in the context of clients’ insurance and reinsurance portfolios.Deliver modeled loss outputs in various formats and effectively interpret and communicate results to colleagues, brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.Engage proactively with stakeholders to understand modeling requirements and respond to ad-hoc requests.Identify and propose process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

What you need to have: 

Working knowledge of catastrophe models, particularly established industry models such as Moody’s, Verisk, and CoreLogic, across major perils on regional or global scales1-2 years of relevant experienceBasic understanding of insurance principles and relevant policy terms.Proven client and project delivery experience, with the ability to present and communicate complex technical content to both internal and external audiences.Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams comprising catastrophe modelers, Underwriters and brokers.Data processing using Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including VBA and Access (such pivot tables and data queries). Skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

What makes you stand out?

Strong academic background with a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields from reputable institutions.Proficiency in stochastic modeling, SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau and geospatial mapping tools such as ArcGIS are highly desirable.Experience working alongside Actuaries and Risk Engineers teams
