Senior Specialist, Private Asset Servicing
Brookfield Asset Management Credit and Insurance Solutions Advisors LP. is focused on deploying its capital on a value basis and compounding it over the long term. This capital is allocated across its three core pillars of asset management, insurance solutions and its operating businesses.
Position Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Private Assets Servicing will be a key member of Brookfield Credit’s growing team and will report to our Manager, Private Assets Servicing, within the wider Investment Operations team. The role will also have a high degree of interaction with the Director, Private Assets Servicing and other members of the investment team, working directly with them in support of the expansion of BAM Credit and Insurance Solutions Advisors LP. investment portfolio. This role provides a highly motivated individual with a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career within BAM Credit. The role will be based in Brookfield’s Toronto offices at Brookfield Place.
Responsibilities:
Independently conduct reconciliation of cash, trade, and positions, ensuring accuracy across multiple systems and resolving discrepancies proactively and lead development of any new reconciliations requiredGuide trade settlement and trade lifecycle events, and settlement across asset classes such as private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and agricultureBe principal contact for capital calls and distributions, ensuring timely and accurate processing for private asset funds and co-ordination with treasury team to ensure executionLiaise with external service providers to support end to end processes related to Loan Administration, including transfers of Private Assets between lenders.Support financial and regulatory reporting by ensuring accurate data capture and documentation for private asset investments including collaboration with investment accounting team on month-end close cycle.Support in the implementation of complex transactions, product launches, closures and other initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, treasury, and accounting to support investment onboarding and reporting, including review of credit agreements and other financial documentationCollaborate with technology services for integration and process enhancement, while actively participating in system implementation projects for ongoing process improvementsRespond to and investigate internal and external inquiries and requests from other departments or escalate to manager on a timely basisMonitor changes to existing portfolios and apply the changes to all back-office systemsDesign ad-hoc reports for special requests from clients or internal requestsLead various projects and special duties assignedBuild and enhance procedures documentation related to team responsibilities and deliverablesQualifications & Requirements:
6+ years of experience: CPA/CFA/CAIA designation is preferredUndergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other relevant fields is requiredStrong working knowledge of trade life-cycle processes within Investment Operations / Middle Office related to alternative asset classes, private investments and fixed incomeProficient in various settlement and reconciliation processesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other office applications (i.e.: Power BI, VBA); experience with other technical software is advantageousStrong analytical and conceptual thinker who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, complex and unstructured environmentThorough and meticulous with extreme focus on detailsSelf-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independentlyTeam-oriented with a commitment to shared successSuperior communication (oral and written) skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levelsAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and external deadlinesHigh degree of professional ethics and integrityOur compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
