Your Team Impact:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team with data modeling, reporting automation, and financial insights. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance and data, and who has hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Power Query, and Excel (including VBA/macros). You will help transform raw financial and operational data into accurate, automated, and decision-ready dashboards and reports.
What You'll Do:
As part of FactSet's Financial Planning and Analysis team you will gain exposure to real-world decision making, visibility with Finance Leadership Team as well as Business Unit leaders, and experience modernizing finance through automation and business intelligence tools.
Data & Reporting:
Design and enhance data structures optimized for financial reporting and analysis. Work with FP&A and Business Intelligence tool engineers in implementing such designs
Develop and maintain automated Excel models and reports, including use of VBA/macros to reduce manual processes
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper documentation across reports and datasets
Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards to support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
Use Power Query to clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, Excel files, databases)
FP&A Support:
Assist FP&A managers with monthly close, variance analysis, and trend analysis
Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data preparation and model updates
Help track key financial and operational KPIs (revenue, margin, headcount, cost drivers, etc.)
Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions and management requests
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and improve data workflows
Help standardize financial reporting and improve scalability as the business grows
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and IT to improve data availability and quality
What We are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
2–5 years of experience in a data analyst, financial analyst, or FP&A support role (internship experience acceptable)
Strong proficiency in Excel, including Advanced formulas (INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.), Pivot tables, VBA/macros for automation
Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge: select, complex joins, Common Table Expression
Understanding of core FP&A concepts (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis)
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Driven, Independent, and ability to work with ambiguity.
Ability to explain data and financial insights to non-technical stakeholders
Organized, proactive, and eager to learn
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Comfortable collaborating with multiple, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
Hands-on experience with Power BI, including Data modeling, DAX basics (measures, calculated columns), Report and dashboard design.
Experience with Databricks
Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources
Experience using Power Query for data transformation
Exposure to ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, TM1, etc.)
Familiarity with structured documentation practices
