The Role: The Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence & Analytics is the strategic business intelligence lead within the IG Wealth Management Reporting Hub, accountable for shaping the enterprise reporting and analytics landscape. This role drives the design, governance, and continuous improvement of reporting frameworks while championing data quality, integrity, and compliance across all analytical solutions.

 

As a Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will leverage advanced analytical methodologies, modern data platforms, and scalable automation to optimize reporting efficiency and enhance insight delivery. This role collaborates closely with senior business partners to translate strategic objectives into robust, data‑driven capabilities—ensuring that reporting solutions not only inform decision‑making but also accelerate operational effectiveness.

 

Operating as a trusted advisor, the Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence & Analytics provides thought leadership on analytics best practices, fosters adoption of self‑service BI, and delivers high‑value dashboards, KPI frameworks, and analytical models that enable the organization to anticipate trends, measure performance, and act with confidence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Report Development

Design, develop, and enhance advanced BI reports and dashboards aligned with evolving business requirements. Partner with stakeholders to deeply understand analytical needs and translate them into scalable, well‑structured technical solutions. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all outputs through strong validation and data‑quality practices. Improve report usability by applying modern visualization standards, UX best practices, and intuitive design principles. Create documentation, user guides, and communication artifacts that clearly explain data logic, report purpose, and proper usage.

 

Insight Generation / Analytics

Serve as the primary analytics advisor for complex reporting challenges, performance analysis, and business decision‑support needs. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to stakeholders on BI tools, data literacy, and self‑service analytics best practices. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership through compelling visuals and narrative reporting. Utilize automation and scheduling tools to streamline recurring reporting workflows and reduce manual effort. Continuously optimize analytical processes by identifying automation opportunities and implementing efficiency improvements.

 

Troubleshooting and Support

Lead proactive monitoring of report and dashboard performance, identifying bottlenecks and optimizing query execution and processing times. Serve as the escalation point for investigating complex issues related to data accuracy, integrity, and BI tool functionality. Provide expert‑level support to stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues while maintaining a high standard of service. Support database updates, maintenance, and data‑refresh processes to ensure the reliability and continuity of reporting operations.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineer or related field 5+ years in financial reporting, business intelligence, or analytics, with demonstrated experience in reporting governance and strategy. Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Google Looker or similar tools. Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and integrating data from multiple sources. Familiarity with LookML / JSON preferred, particularly for semantic modeling and configuration within Looker environments. Experience in the financial services or wealth management industry is strongly preferred.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is ($65,500-91,000), which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
