Senior Sourcing Manager
Job Title: Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager to lead strategic sourcing activities within a dynamic biopharmaceutical environment. This role involves managing supplier relationships, supporting new product development, and overseeing purchasing and inventory management. The position is based in Foster City, CA, with eligibility for a flexible remote work schedule.

ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for business discussions, long-range supply and capacity planning, and business development.Manage supplier performance on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.Oversee the day-to-day performance of assigned suppliers and resolve issues for both internal and external manufacturing sites.Handle procurement, purchase order placement, and inventory management of components.Lead annual business review meetings with assigned suppliers.Assess and mitigate supplier risks through regular risk management processes.Prepare, review, and track RFPs/RFQs/RFIs for new business in collaboration with stakeholders.Negotiate Confidentiality Agreements, Master Services Agreements, and Work Orders.Identify and manage strategic suppliers of direct materials in alignment with approved strategies.Support make vs. buy analysis and participate in Operational Excellence projects.Coordinate and lead meetings internally and with suppliers, maintaining records of discussions.Develop budgets and report accruals accurately to Finance.Solve complex issues and communicate them to line managers and project teams.Support product team needs for supplier selection from development through commercialization.Lead or support site assessment teams in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.Maintain knowledge of supplier capabilities and offerings relevant to pipeline needs.Establish quality and technical expectations with suppliers.Collaborate regularly with key stakeholders to ensure outsourced needs are met.Organize and participate in teleconferences and meetings with global suppliers.Essential Skills8+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech organization or relevant manufacturing environment with a BA or BS degree.Experience leading manufacturing service providers and/or direct material suppliers.Strong computer skills and ERP system experience (SAP).Understanding of CMC development activities for biopharmaceuticals.Knowledge of GMP regulations (21CFR parts 11, 210, 211, 820).Ability to lead cross-functional teams.Strong people management skills.Experience negotiating contractual agreements.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple programs/projects with strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to develop concise presentations for senior management.Experience resolving complex problems through collaboration.Additional Skills & QualificationsMA/MBA degree may count as 2 years of relevant experience, and a Ph.D. may count as 4 years.Experience with combination products preferred.Project management experience and/or certification is a plus.Ability to work under uncertainty and resolve conflict constructively.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.This position may require up to 20% domestic and/or international travel.Work Environment

The position is based in Foster City, CA, with the flexibility of remote work up to 2 days per week. The work environment includes opportunities for collaboration with global teams and participation in teleconferences and face-to-face meetings with suppliers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66.67 - $66.67/hr.
