Senior Solutions Architect, Alexa Connect Kit, Smart Home BDSA
Description The Alexa Smart Home Business Development and Solution Architecture team is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to help third-party developers integrate their products and services with Alexa. In this role, you will be the technical face of Amazon, working closely with top-tier third-party brands and developers to help shape the future of voice-driven experiences powered by Alexa. You will own key technical relationships with senior technical leaders/CxO in those organizations and be a hands-on architect and adviser throughout the lifecycle of their integration efforts. The Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) provides managed services to device makers, helping them create high-quality, connected smart home devices quickly and easily. ACK combines managed hardware modules with SaaS to simplify IoT development for device makers. You must have hands-on hardware and/or software development experience as well as experience working with third-party or external partners as a consultant, evangelist, solution architect, sales engineer, or pre-sales engineer. You must possess a blend of deep technical experience, customer facing skills, and the ability to align technology solutions to business challenges, with a commitment to driving mutually successful outcomes for Alexa customers and third-party developers. You must be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges and map the intersection of partner needs and Amazon priorities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer engagement and communication skills as well as the ability to provide guidance and earn credibility with technologists and developers at all levels, from students to CIOs. Key job responsibilities * Provide technical consultation to product and engineering teams at strategic partners to facilitate the integration of their devices with Alexa * Educate partners of all sizes on the Alexa Connect Kit and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure their devices are designed for successful launch. * Engage with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and factories to bring compelling Alexa Connect Kit enabled devices to customers worldwide. * Actively identify opportunities to deliver experiences that demonstrate what is possible on Amazon devices and services * Developing unique, compelling and exciting presentations and demonstrations of new Amazon technologies * Delivering persuasive, passionate, high impact, high quality presentations to senior decision makers * Document best practices and create development resources that can be used by other developers. Basic Qualifications - 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience - BA/BS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in computer architecture and embedded systems. - 5+ years of embedded development experience in C. - Knowledge of low-level drivers, interrupt service routines and general troubleshooting/debugging with hardware. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills. - Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results. - Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects. - Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and appropriate tactical plans quickly. Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. - Experience in firmware development and testing. - Experience with common bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UART. - Experience with software testing (unit, regression and system testing). - Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and embedded Linux. - Prior experience with system bring-up, manufacturing line testing. - Prior experience in Python or analyzing sensor data (or interest in learning) is also a plus Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
