About The Role
The Experience Platform team is building a platform to enable front-end Web teams across CVS Digital to quickly and easily build, preview and ship experiences into the hands of our customers, all at the scale of a Fortune 4 company!
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (CDN) to join our DevEx Experience Platform team. You’ll be part of a core group building a cutting-edge Edge Computing solution to improve how applications are delivered, cached, and scaled globally. You’ll collaborate with architects, product teams, security, and DevOps to ensure our CDN infrastructure is performant, secure, and adaptable to business needs.
This is a high-impact engineering role where you’ll contribute to architectural design, help shape CDN strategy and collaborate closely with senior leaders. It is ideal for someone with deep experience in CDN and caching technologies, a solid foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript, and a passion for optimizing edge performance at scale. While you won’t be the sole driver of architecture, you’ll be trusted to lead initiatives and make thoughtful technical decisions that influence our edge delivery systems.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement scalable CDN and caching solutions as part of our Edge Computing strategyContribute to architectural decisions alongside staff and distinguished engineersCollaborate cross-functionally with product, DevOps, security, and platform teamsEnsure CDN configurations adhere to performance, security, and availability standardsMonitor, debug, and optimize caching strategies and edge delivery pipelinesEvaluate and recommend improvements to CDN observability and edge performance toolingActively participate in peer code reviews, providing feedback to your fellow engineers to make them better and to improve the quality of the software we shipProvide technical support to product teams, advising on best practices and highlighting risksEngage in continuous improvement projects within the teamRequired Skills & Experience
5+ years of professional experience in software engineering5+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript5+ years of experience with cloud platforms like GCP (preferred), AWS or Azure3+ years of deep hands-on experience with CDN technologies such as Fastly, Akamai, Cloudflare, or Varnish3+ years of experience working on solutions leveraging caching principles, including TTL, purging, ESI, and stale content strategies3+ years hands-on experience with databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including query optimization and data modelling3+ years of experience delivering projects from inception to completion, demonstrating ownership and accountability throughout the entire project lifecyclePreferred Qualifications

The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $185,400.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
