Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead transformational engineering initiatives across Generative AI, Chaos Engineering. This role drives modernization of engineering practices, resilience frameworks, automation capabilities, and AI‑augmented engineering solutions supporting mission‑critical platforms across Wells Fargo Technology.

This position is suited for a highly influential technical leader with deep expertise in distributed systems, reliability engineering, and AI—capable of shaping enterprise strategy, mentoring engineering talent, and delivering resilient, scalable, and innovative solutions. Candidates with prior Lead or Senior Software Engineer–level impact or industry recognition will receive strong preference.

In this role, you will:

Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environmentsContribute to large scale planning of strategiesDesign, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deploymentsReview moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and proceduresResolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirementsCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goalsLead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Software Engineering experience with strong exposure to automation and Platform EngineeringExperience with Gen AI/LLM based solutions those are implemented in productionBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer science, engineering or related field.
