**About the Role** The Uber Eats Merchant team helps restaurants build successful online food businesses through the power of Uber's network and marketplace. As a member of the Science team, you will use data to understand how we can build better products and have an impact on over 1.5 million restaurants. **What You'll Do** + Use data to uncover insights about our product and business. Apply models and statistics where appropriate to increase the rigor of our insights. + Design and run experiments to test hypotheses and ship impactful features to the marketplace. + Synthesize and present information to influence non-technical partners and the product roadmap. + Measure the team's progress through metrics design and goal-setting. **Basic Qualifications** + Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields. + Minimum 4 years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent (2+ years if holding a Ph.D.) + R or Python coding and ability to develop statistical analysis and algorithm prototyping. + Design experiments, interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions. + Solid theoretical and applied causal inference skills, experience applying them in a practical industry setting. **Preferred Qualifications** + Marketplace or consumer technology experience. + Modeling and causal inference. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
