A Day in the LifeWe are seeking an experienced SAP Security Specialist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and managing SAP security solutions, with substantial involvement in multiple S/4HANA transformation projects. The ideal candidate has demonstrated expertise in SAP security across complex landscapes and hands-on experience in S/4HANA migrations and transformations.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
SAP Security Design & Implementation:
Develop and implement SAP security strategies, roles, and authorizations for S/4HANA and related environments, ensuring alignment with business requirements and compliance standards.
Design, configuration and deployment of SAP GRC Access Control Components.
Conduct risk analysis and remediation for Segregation of Duties (SoD) and critical access.
S/4HANA Transformation Involvement:
Actively participate in S/4HANA transformation projects, including brownfield and/or hybrid approaches. Assess and redesign ECC security models for S/4HANA compatibility.
User & Role Management:
Oversee user access, role design, and authorizations across SAP landscapes (S/4HANA, Fiori, BW/4HANA, etc.), ensuring proper segregation of duties (SoD).
Security Audits & Compliance:
Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and SoD reviews. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
Identity & Access Management:
Integrate SAP security with enterprise IAM solutions (such as SAP GRC, Azure AD) and support Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with business process owners, project managers, BASIS, and infrastructure teams to ensure security requirements are met throughout project lifecycles.
Documentation & Training:
Maintain detailed security documentation. Provide training and guidance to end users and project teams on SAP security best practices.
Incident Response:
Investigate and resolve security incidents, access issues, and audit findings promptly.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
8+ years of SAP security and GRC experience, with at least 2 years focused on S/4HANA transformations.
Involvement in at least two full-cycle S/4HANA implementation or migration projects.
Expertise in at least two GRC implementation/upgrade projects.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of SAP security concepts (roles, authorizations, profiles, user administration).
Experience with SAP GRC Access Control, Fiori security, and integration with enterprise IAM solutions.
Understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, including Fiori Launchpad, CDS views, and HANA DB security.
Familiarity with SAP cloud solutions (SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba) is a plus.
Compliance & Audit:
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (SOX, GDPR, etc.) and best practices for SAP security controls.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP System Security and Authorizations or S/4HANA Security certification.
- Experience with global SAP deployments and multi-country rollouts.
- Exposure to Agile project methodologies.
