**Job Summary:**
The Senior Safety & EHS Leader provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership for all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across the site. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously enhancing the site’s EHS management systems to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate operational risks, and support the organization’s long-term sustainability goals. This position drives a proactive safety culture by establishing clear expectations, reinforcing accountability at all levels, and promoting environmental stewardship. The Senior Safety & EHS Leader ensures adherence to all applicable regulatory, corporate, and local requirements while leading continuous improvement initiatives that elevate overall EHS performance and operational excellence.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures aligned with corporate standards and applicable regulations (federal, state, local).
+ Own and mature the EHS Management System (e.g., risk assessments, aspect-impact/hazard identification, objectives & targets, operational controls, MOC, document control, and management review).
+ Drive proactive risk reduction through hazard/risk assessments (JSA/JHA, PHA, LOTO, machine guarding, ergonomics, confined space, contractor safety, hot work, electrical safety, working at heights, industrial hygiene, and chemical management).
+ Ensure robust incident management: reporting, notification, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA), and verification of effectiveness.
+ Plan and lead audits/inspections (internal and external), close findings, and maintain site readiness for regulatory visits.
+ Develop and deliver EHS training and competency programs for all levels (hourly, salaried, leadership, and contractors).
+ Monitor and report EHS performance (lagging and leading indicators, KPIs), analyze trends, and present to site and corporate leadership with data-driven actions.
+ Manage EHS budgets, vendors, and service providers; coordinate industrial hygiene sampling and medical surveillance as applicable.
+ Champion employee engagement and culture initiatives (safety committees, near-miss reporting, recognition programs, behavioral-based safety).
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HR, and Quality on equipment design reviews, capital projects, and Management of Change.
+ Ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely submissions (permits, corporate reporting).
**Educational Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
+ Expert in EHS and leadership role.
+ Intermediate - Advanced English

+ **Incident Investigation:** Conducts root cause analysis and ensures effective corrective actions.
+ **Audit & Inspection:** Supports internal and external audits and maintains compliance readiness.
+ **Data Analysis:** Interprets EHS metrics and uses data to drive performance improvements.
**Top Candidates also have:**
+ Master’s degree in occupational health & safety, or a related field.
+ Advanced knowledge of Industrial Hygiene, including exposure assessments and air/noise monitoring.
+ Expert applying ISO 45001 requirements.
**Additional Information:**
+ Location: Cienega de Flores, Nuevo León Facility.
+ This position is five-day a week in-office model.
