The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners across the AIG organisation to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate rational risk-taking that drives profitable growth. ERM ensures we have the right tools, processes and systems in place to identify, measure and manage our risks. How you will create an impact

Based in Melbourne or Auckland, this role has a requirement of working at least 3-4 days in the office. This unique opportunity combines responsibility for strengthening risk governance and regulatory engagement, alongside coordination for the ERM team in Pacific, as well as providing executive-level support to the CRO. This is a high exposure role with a real opportunity to support a high-performing team and grow professionally into a risk manager or business partner.

Key accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):

Lead risk reporting and risk governance matters across Australia and New Zealand including Board and Management information reporting.

Establish and maintain integrated reporting mechanisms that provide timely insights into risk management activities, risk governance and oversight to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.

Track and coordinate regulatory responses, liaising with APRA, ASIC and other regulatory bodies as required in conjunction with Legal and Compliance.

Contribute to risk projects – this can range from regulatory changes in Australia and New Zealand, controls assurance, GRC tool implementation, climate disclosures, or regional and global initiatives.

Support the wider team to drive risk integration into strategic planning and execution, promoting a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the Australia and New Zealand business.

Provide strategic executive-level support to the CRO, including proactive calendar, inbox and travel management.

Coordinate CRO’s engagements with internal and external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, and directors.

Draft and review internal and external communications, board papers, briefing packs, and regulatory correspondence.

Track actions, decisions, and reporting obligations across key risk and governance forums.

What you’ll need to succeed

Proven experience in a business support or coordinator role.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders and regulators.

Demonstrated experience working with senior executives.

High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Effective time management and prioritisation – you’ll deal with competing priorities and time sensitivity.

Strong attention to detail, record keeping, accurate reporting and drafting skills

Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost care and professionalism

A passion for risk management and the strong willingness to make a unique impact

The following would be advantageous:

Strong working knowledge of ISO31000 or other risk-related frameworks.

Prior experience or technical working knowledge of ServiceNow or other GRC tools/platforms.

Prior experience or technical working knowledge of insurance risk, actuarial or general insurance products and services.
