Get to Know the Role
You will report to the Regional Head of Risk Operations, overseeing comprehensive Risk Operations with a primary focus on the Singapore and Malaysia markets. You will ensure regional standardization while complying with each country's regulatory requirements. You will play an important part in maintaining the security and integrity of our Risk Operations, protecting against financial and reputational harm. In return, you will enhance our financial security and contribute to the success of our company.
You will base onsite in our Petaling Jaya office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
Oversee end-to-end regional risk operations for Malaysia and Singapore, overseeing both in-house teams and BPO partners across onboarding, AML, chargebacks, quality control, and risk investigations.Be accountable for operational and business targets, including service level agreement (SLA), quality and performance reporting.Lead projects with different departments across Product and Engineering, including automation, platform improvements, and internal AI projects, balancing short-term execution needs with long-term strategy.Lead departmental innovation and process optimization through technology and AI, with a focus on risk mitigation, scalability, and standardization across regions.Partner with external stakeholders (regulators, banks, government agencies) and our teams (Compliance, Country teams) to ensure regulatory alignment, audit readiness, and "right-first-time" execution.Define risk policies, procedures, and training programs to strengthen risk awareness, fraud prevention, and compliance across the organization.Manage departmental OKRs, budgets, and resources, ensuring operational efficiency, accurate record-keeping, and alignment with overall organizational objectives.QualificationsWhat Essential Skills You Will Need
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in leadership experience managing Team Leaders.Having experience managing complex processes, big teams with more than 50 headcounts and experience managing cross-border teams would be advantageous.Experience in risk operations, fraud detection, chargeback management, KYC/KYB compliance, and AML monitoring.In-depth knowledge of performance metrics (Example: Service level agreement (SLA), Quality, Productivity, and Occupancy)Demonstrate customer service orientation and conflict management skills.Be able to think outside the box and make balanced and unbiased decisions based on all available informationAdditional InformationLife at Grab
