Senior React UI Developer – OTC Derivatives, Charles River Development, Vice President
Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled React UI Developer to design and build the next generation of user interfaces for our OTC derivatives workflows. You will be an individual contributor responsible for transforming complex derivatives workflows into intuitive, performant, and modern UI experiences within the Charles River platform.

Experience developing trading, pricing, or risk UIs within OTC derivatives is essential.You will work closely with SMEs, Product Managers, and Quant Developers in an agile environment to deliver a market-leading front-to-back OTC derivatives solution.Why This Role Is Important

Charles River Development (CRD), acquired by State Street in 2018, delivers enterprise investment management solutions to the world’s largest asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth platforms.

CRD powers State Street Alpha, the industry’s first open front-to-back platform launched in 2019.

As OTC Derivatives become more complex and workflows evolve, this role is key to delivering the next generation of intuitive, scalable, cloud-native UIs that support pricing, risk, lifecycle management, and trade capture for derivatives instruments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As a Senior React UI Developer, you will:

UI EngineeringDesign and develop modern React-based user interfaces for OTC derivatives trade capture, pricing, analytics, and lifecycle workflows.Collaborate with UX designers to build intuitive components and data-rich visualizations.Implement highly performant client-side logic, including complex state management and real-time updates (e.g., pricing, lifecycle events).Build reusable UI components aligned with CRD design patterns and UI frameworks.

Collaboration & DeliveryWork closely with Product Managers and SMEs to translate derivatives workflows into well-designed UI solutions.Partner with backend/quant teams to integrate APIs, analytics services, and pricing engines.Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, design reviews, and Agile ceremonies.

Quality & Engineering ExcellenceWrite unit and integration tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc.).Conduct peer reviews for UI components and front-end architecture.Troubleshoot UI performance issues, usability challenges, and data inconsistencies.Contribute to UI technical documentation, API interactions, and UI/UX specifications.

What We ValueDemonstrated expertise building React applications (React 16+, hooks, Redux, Context, or similar state management tools).Ability to translate complex quantitative/derivative concepts into intuitive UI behavior and visual patterns.Strong understanding of API-driven front-end development (REST, WebSockets, streaming, event-driven UIs).Experience designing UIs for financial workflows such as trading, pricing, risk, valuations, or lifecycle management.Ability to work independently on complex UI projects with minimal oversight.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving skills with a mindset for clean, scalable front-end architecture.Experience working in Agile development environments.

Experience & Preferred Skills5–10 years of software engineering experience, with significant time focused on front-end development.Hands-on experience building UIs for OTC derivatives is required.Familiarity with back-end technologies (Java, Python, SQL) is a plus for integration.Experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is beneficial.Understanding of derivatives asset classes such as Rates, Credit, Equity, FX, or Commodities is an advantage.

EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required.
