Job Description As the Quality Engineer on this project, you will be the sole QE responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of a new evaluation tool used by subject matter experts. With no existing code base, you will build both the test strategy and automation framework from the ground up. You will work closely with a small, collaborative team to test both frontend and backend components, participate in daily scrum meetings, perform manual testing of new features (e.g., dataset import, query assignment, feedback submission), and develop automated test scripts using Playwright or Cypress. You will integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, conduct regression, performance, accessibility, and security testing, document test cases and results, and provide consistent updates on testing status. This role requires someone proactive, detail oriented, and comfortable owning quality in an autonomous environment while establishing scalable testing processes from scratch. Skills and Requirements • 5+ years of professional experience as a Quality Engineer (50% Manual / 50% Automation) • Strong experience with TypeScript and JavaScript • Hands on experience testing and automating web applications using Playwright (preferred) or Cypress • Solid understanding of API, performance, security, and accessibility testing • Ability to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria from scratch • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing • Experience collaborating closely with developers and product owners—performing functional testing and conducting quality checks
