The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution, financial performance, and successful delivery of large-scale public infrastructure electrical projects. This role provides senior leadership across the full project lifecycle—including design coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout—while maintaining accountability for schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk.
This position reports directly to executive leadership and plays a critical role in strategic planning, contract compliance, and enterprise-level risk management.
Key Responsibilities Executive Project LeadershipProvide full lifecycle leadership for complex public works electrical infrastructure projects.
Direct all phases of delivery including design review, procurement strategy, construction readiness, field execution, testing, commissioning, and final closeout.
Lead multidisciplinary teams including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field staff.
Financial & Contract ManagementMaintain full P&L responsibility for assigned projects.
Manage cost controls, forecasting, change management, and margin protection.
Oversee compliance with public agency contracts including RFIs, submittals, schedule updates, claims, and regulatory requirements.
Risk & Performance ManagementIdentify and mitigate risks related to scope, procurement, schedule, constructability, and financial exposure.
Provide executive-level reporting including KPIs, job status updates, financial forecasts, and recovery plans.
Ensure strict adherence to safety programs, QA/QC standards, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder & Agency CoordinationServe as senior point of contact for owners, agencies, consultants, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
Resolve technical, contractual, and schedule challenges on high-profile infrastructure programs.
Strategic ContributionSupport business development and pursuit strategy by applying lessons learned and contributing to project positioning.
Provide input on alternative delivery strategies and complex procurement planning.
Required Qualifications10–15+ years of experience with an electrical contractor delivering public works projects.
Proven experience managing large-scale public infrastructure electrical programs including:
Power supply and distribution systems
Backup power and reliability systems
Control and automation systems (SCADA / PLC)
Communications and low-voltage systems
Mechanical/electrical equipment interfaces
Demonstrated success delivering $75M+ electrical scopes.
Strong financial acumen with direct P&L accountability.
Extensive experience with public agency contracts, change management, and claims resolution.
Proven leadership managing layered project teams and field operations.
Executive-level communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience on major rail or transit infrastructure programs.
Strong background in schedule management, procurement planning, and risk mitigation.
Experience with design-build and alternative delivery methods.
PMP, PE, or similar professional certifications preferred.
