Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering
What You Will Do:

GFT is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Construction Services team in the New York Metro Area to work on a critical alternative delivery megaproject serving the region.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee complex, multi-disciplinary work on major transportation projects. You will lead planning, delivery, and closeout activities while cultivating strong relationships with clients, partner agencies, and industry collaborators. You will also play a key role in positioning GFT for future opportunities and support the growth of the firm and practice.

 

In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

Lead execution of major projects, overseeing multi‑disciplinary scopes of workEngage effectively with clients, partner agencies, consultants, and contractorsNegotiate contract scopes and feesPrepare and supervise contracts and related documents for clients, subconsultants, subcontractors, and vendorsManage project financialsCoordinate resources across disciplines and partner firms to deliver defined scopesPrepare project status updates and maintain communication with executive‑level stakeholdersLead and manage QA/QC processes in alignment with GFT’s Quality Management SystemOversee project financials, including cost control, earned value analysis, billing, and invoice reviewTrack scope changes, risks, and schedule performanceLead project meetings and guide implementation of project execution plansDevelop proposals and coordinate technical input across participating teamsPresent proposals and related materials to clients and key stakeholdersManage project closeout activitiesSupport marketing and business development efforts through client outreach and participation in strategic pursuitsEducation | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

Bachelor’s degree15+ years of industry experience5+ years of leadership experience on projects of $300M or greater5+ years of experience in Alternative DeliveryExcellent people and project management skillsStrong oral and written communication abilitiesProven ability to analyze issues, solve problems, and drive resultsDemonstrated success meeting deadlines in fast‑paced environments

What we prefer you bring:

Bachelor's degree in a technical fieldProfessional Engineering (PE) License in New York5+ years of leadership experience on $1B+ megaprojectsPrior railroad experienceDBIA certification

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $210,000 - $260,000 per year. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
