**Job Summary**
TYLin is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Rail Bridges to play a pivotal role in growing and shaping our rail bridge practice. In this role, you will lead complex rail bridge projects, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and help develop the technical talent, tools, and best practices that define TYLin’s rail bridge capabilities. **Responsibilities & Qualifications**
**What You’ll Do**
+ Lead the planning, delivery, and oversight of rail bridge projects from concept through construction, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
+ Serve as Project Manager and technical leader for new bridge designs, rehabilitations, and complex rail structures, including steel, concrete, and long-span bridges.
+ Provide strategic technical direction and quality oversight, ensuring compliance with AREMA, AASHTO, and applicable railroad and agency standards.
+ Build and contribute to a **rail bridge subject matter center of excellence** , helping define best practices, standards, and technical approaches across the firm.
+ Mentor and develop engineers and project managers, fostering technical growth, leadership capability, and a strong culture of collaboration.
+ Act as a primary client interface for public agencies, Class I and short-line railroads, and design-build partners.
+ Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including track, geotechnical, seismic, and construction professionals, to deliver integrated rail solutions.
+ Support business development activities, including proposals, interviews, client relationship building, and strategic pursuits.
+ Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge-sharing across the rail and bridge practices.
**What You’ll Bring**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois (or ability to obtain via reciprocity); SE license is a plus.
+ 10+ years of experience in bridge engineering with a strong emphasis on **rail and transit bridge projects** .
+ Demonstrated experience managing rail bridge projects, including budgets, schedules, risk, and client expectations.
+ Strong working knowledge of AREMA, railroad standards, and public agency requirements.
+ Experience with seismic analysis, fatigue analysis, load rating, and rehabilitation strategies for rail structures.
+ Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, and LARSA.
+ Proven ability to lead teams, mentor others, and balance technical excellence with project and business priorities.
+ Experience working with Class I Railroads and/or public transportation agencies.
+ A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.

**Additional Information**
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $150,000 - $200,000 annually for this position and local market.
