Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Sr Project Management Associate to work in the exciting area of cancer immunotherapy to support the development, direction, and execution of site projects. In this role you will report to the Senior Manager, Project Management, at our commercial manufacturing facility located in Frederick, MD.

As a Senior Project Management Associate, at Gilead/Kite you will ...

Key Responsibilities:

Lead cross-functional projects at the Frederick, Maryland manufacturing facility

Lead project teams to create and maintain project charters, develop detailed project plans, including timelines, deliverables, resources, and project costs

Lead project teams to establish project scope through clear problem statement development, goals and measurements of results

Lead project teams to develop appropriate project team structure, communication and change management plans

Guide the project teams through the development of extensive project business cases and savings tracking

Manage project budgets by development, tracking, and reporting of all project related costs including labor resources. Align closely with Finance and budget stakeholders.

Coordinate and lead project team meetings, including minutes, actions, and escalations

Engage stakeholders to align project priorities, coordinate interdependencies, and identify and navigate project risks

Develop and utilize visual resources to monitor and track all aspects of project progress including task completion, milestone tracking, budget, escalations, and resource utilization

Ensure projects achieve planned milestones through rigorous schedule management

Manages changes to project scope, project timeline and project budget including routine monitoring of project risks, escalating early when there is significant increase in likelihood of risks negatively impacting project results.

Ensure project statuses are regularly reported to site/global portfolios and other functions and forums as established

Provide organized and concise project status updates to stakeholders and forums where required

Assist in development of standard project management tools and provide guidance to tool users

Guide cross-functional investigations and facilitate root cause analysis

Assist site teams as a workshop and meeting facilitation subject matter expert

Invest in developing relationships with stakeholders and team members to create an environment of trust and collaboration

Foster productive communication and alignment among the site functions and with global functions

Guide and supports improvement initiatives as needed

Serve as a mentor to junior and/or aspiring project managers

Basic Qualifications:

5+ Years with BS/BA
OR3+ Years with MS/MA

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated achievement of establishing and developing effective technical projects with cross-functional and global teams

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), including presenting to senior stakeholders

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and resolving conflicts related to meeting numerous deadlines

Ability to exercise independent judgment within generally defined practices and policies that lead to processes for achieving results

Ability to problem solve and delegate appropriate tasks to collaborators and follow-up as needed to meet deadlines

Ability to take initiative and think critically with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to foster collaboration among cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong listening skills

Experience in root cause analysis tools and their application

Experience (even if periphery) with operational excellence.  Can include participation or leading of a yellow belt project.

Experience developing complex schedules utilizing sub-schedule integration structure with performing critical path analysis

Project budgeting experience

Expertise skill level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Project, SmartSheet

PMP trained/certified

The salary range for this position is: $123,930.00 - $160,380.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
