Senior Project Lead - MEP JLL Project and Development Services (PDS) - Mumbai

Position Overview

JLL PDS Mumbai is seeking an experienced Senior Project Lead - MEP to oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering aspects of complex commercial and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality MEP solutions within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Lead MEP design coordination and implementation across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring compliance with local codes, international standards, and client specifications. Manage project lifecycles from concept design through commissioning and handover, collaborating closely with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to optimize integrated building systems.

Oversee technical reviews and approvals of MEP drawings, specifications, and submittals while maintaining quality control throughout project delivery. Coordinate with regulatory authorities for statutory approvals and ensure adherence to Mumbai Municipal Corporation guidelines, fire safety norms, and environmental regulations.

Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for MEP components while identifying and mitigating technical and commercial risks. Lead vendor selection processes, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts with MEP contractors and equipment suppliers.

Mentor junior engineers and project coordinators while fostering knowledge sharing within the team. Interface directly with clients to understand requirements, present technical solutions, and manage expectations throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline with 12-18 years of progressive experience in MEP project management within commercial real estate or infrastructure sectors. Professional engineering certification and familiarity with Indian building codes, NBC standards, and Mumbai-specific regulations essential.

Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system design, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial developments. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project management software required, with working knowledge of energy modeling tools preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi, with ability to present technical concepts to diverse stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory officials.

Preferred Experience

Experience with sustainable building practices, LEED certification processes, and energy-efficient MEP systems. Background in commercial office buildings, retail developments, or industrial facilities within Mumbai metropolitan region highly valued.
