Job Description Summary

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. This role involves technical leadership, project management, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards.

About the Role:

Lead the design and analysis of civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, water systems, and infrastructure worksReview and approve engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reportsManage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risksProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staffCoordinate with architects, surveyors, contractors, and other stakeholdersEnsure compliance with local codes, industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirementsConduct site inspections and resolve technical or construction-related issuesPrepare and review tender documents, cost estimates, and contract documentsLiaise with clients and regulatory authorities to obtain approvals and permitsSupport continuous improvement in engineering practices and project delivery

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certificationMinimum 8–12 years of relevant civil engineering experienceStrong knowledge of civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, ETABS)Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles

Strong leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesEffective communication and client-facing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Working Conditions

Combination of office-based design work and on-site supervisionMay require travel to project locationsFull-time position with potential for extended hours during critical project phases
